Electrical Testing - Electrical Safety Certificates
Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)
An Electrical Installation Condition Report, previously known as a Periodic Inspection Report, is a testing procedure designed to ensure all existing electrical installations and fixed wiring within a property comply with Building Regulations and are safe to use.
For Landlords and property managers, Electrical Safety Certificates are normally required for properties whenever there is a change of occupancy, or every 5 to 10 years when there is no change.
Following an EICR we provide a fully detailed report, normally sent out within 1 day, which highlights possible faults and recommendations for remedial works.
If work is needed to obtain a satisfactory report, we issue a no obligation, jargon free quote and arrange a time to carry out the work if you decide to accept the quote. If no work is required or once remedial work is completed, we will normally issue your certificate within 1 day.
Visual Condition Report (VCR)
This is mainly a visual inspection and a basic testing procedure on electrical installations. Our experienced electricians use VCR to highlight potential problems with an installation without the need for a full condition report and the expense associated with it. We offer this alternative mainly for those thinking about buying a new property or just wanting to know more about the condition of their electrical installations on the premises. The report will identify "so far as is reasonably practical" any damage, deterioration or defects which may give rise to danger. We cannot offer this as an alternative where Building Regulations mean an EICR has to be undertaken.
